Patrick Redmond visited Paris in 1980 as part of a travel/study tour, led by Gregg Berryman (author of Notes on Graphic Design and Visual Communication), through California State University-Chico. Other cities included London, Cardiff, and Basel. He met Wolfgang Weingart and Armin Hofmann at the Schule für Gestaltung Basel or Basel School of Design.
